Mitigate Rebounding

Typical ISCO

Picture

Multiple Treatments

Rebounding is a common issue during in situ remediation.

Elevated contaminant levels return following a treatment.

Multiple treatments/injections - drive up cost, delay time to completion and prolong exposure.

Control Release ICSO

Picture

A Single Treatment

Our controlled release ISCO provides a sustained delivery of oxidants into the subsurface continually degrading contaminants and mitigating rebound.
RemRx® CRP delivers a sustained oxidant with a single application that continually treats dissolved phase contaminants.

Versatile & Tunable

A Prescriptive Dosage
Complicated hydrogeological aspects in the subsurface mean that each contaminated site is unique.

We use a highly tunable polymer-based matrix that allows release of targeted oxidant doses under specific treatment times and conditions.

Our tunable technology allows for a prescriptive remediation strategy that is not possible with traditional dissolved oxidant solutions.

Deployment Versatility

The easy to handle, solid material can be placed directly into the contaminated zone, established in a permeable reactive barrier, or spread throughout an area following excavation as a “polishing” step.

Lower Project Costs

Rebounding is a common issue during in situ remediation. This returning of elevated contaminant levels following a treatment is currently addressed through repeat treatments/injections - driving up cost, delaying time to completion, and prolonging exposure.

Eliminating the Rebound

Over time contaminants change physical states.

RemRx® CRP Sustains delivery
through dissolved and aqueous phases.

Contaminant mass can be dissolved in groundwater,  sorbed onto solids in the aquifer sediment and as a separate non-aqueous base.

The contaminant concentrations are the result of the dynamic combination of the aquifers environment, solubility and the groundwaters pH.

Oxidant and contaminant reaction kinetics are faster in the dissolved phase thus sorbed contaminants are not as efficiently treated. Rebounding occurs when contaminants desorb and partition back into the aqueous phase.
